You can route the audio output via Rewire to another Pro Tools aux or audio track.

Also, Reaper can be hosted in slave mode in Pro Tools, and in turn, Reaper can host VSTs while in slave mode. Reason is hosted as a Rewire application, not a VST, when in slave mode. Pro Tools can not host VSTs, but can host AAX plugins that can host VSTs. ReWire is basically turning reason into a VST. Here's how it feels: I was just shown the most delicious chocolate cake ever baked in the history of the world.then told I'm not allowed to have a single bite.ĪttenuationHz wrote:The host application HOSTS VST's. Programming wise, it can't be that hard to pull off since you can do it with Fl Studios and Reaper for example.
CHORDZ VST REASON 9.5 UPGRADE
I know of several using earlier versions of Reasons in Pro Tools, who would upgrade immediately to 9.5 IF they could host the VSTs while in slave mode.

I would guess the amount of people hoping to use Reason as a VST bridge for Pro Tools is relatively small in number. That aside, if you want an actual Propellerhead to respond, you're better off contacting them via social twitter or Facebook than here. With that in mind they didn't feel it was necessary to make VSTs work in Rewire but rather that it functions just like Ableton does. What was said was the majority of people who used Rewire did so in order to use Reason along side VSTs. You can find it on their youtube channel. I believe they addressed this in their live stream about the 9.5 announcement. An explanation as to why this is not possible would be helpful. It can't be something with Rewire because VSTs can be hosted in Reaper with Reaper in slave mode, so why is this not possible? Its frustrating to finally be able to have VST hosting and not really be able to take advantage of it in the way I normally use Reason.
